Lighting Control

Simply turning lights on and off has never been the ideal way to use lighting in any room. Most of the time it is either too bright, or too dark.

Most rooms have a number of different uses. Different lighting is required for these activities. Sometimes you need a good level of light carefully directed to the task in hand, such as cooking; other times a more subtle light level is required to create a cosy romantic feel.Your lighting can match your own flexibility by configuring multiple lighting scenes to correspond to the activities supported.

An Intelligent lighting control system allows the mood of any room to be altered at the touch of a button.

It is important though to consider that there are two aspects to creating good "Mood" lighting. First is the initial lighting design. Second is the design of the control system. Together when done well you will achieve fabulous results. However without both aspects you are unlikely to achieve anything
exciting: a ceiling full of down lighters will always be, just a ceiling full of down lighters however sophisticated the control system is, likewise a super lighting design with multiple circuits is unlikely to be used to its full potential if all you have is a bank of unsightly switches on the wall.

A carefully designed lighting system will also make your home more environmentally friendly and less costly to run. Controlling lights selectively consumes less energy and prolongs the life of the lamps.

There are a wide range of control systems available, from those suitable for a single room to scalable systems suitable for larger buildings. Numerous control interfaces in a wide variety of finishes are available, including push button panels, touch screens, apps for iPad and android devices, remote controls, motion sensors and input units for integrating into 3rd party equipment. Any light is controllable, with virtually all of them dimmable to some extent. Most control systems can also fully integrate with home automation systems.

Electrical Services

Employing a team of qualified electricians and being registered with the NICEIC, we are in the unique position of not only being able to design your lighting scheme, but also to install it.

The peace of mind ensured in knowing that the lighting and electrics will be installed properly by someone that knows and understands the scheme and its components; in addition to this, you only have one person to deal with from the initial design brief right through to commissioning and completion. This is of course only an option, we are more than happy to liaise with your own chosen electrician.

Our electricians are qualified and experienced enough to undertake most other electrical jobs too. These include:

Testing and Inspection - to BS7671:2008 and BS7909:2008 (temporary electrical supplies)

Sourcing and Supply

Our status as an independent design consultancy means we are not tied to any suppliers, therefore we can provide fully impartial advice.

We have a vast knowledge of suppliers and their products ensuring we are ideally placed to source both architectural and decorative light fittings. Energy efficiency being of particular interest, we keep abreast of all the latest developments in both lighting and control systems.

Following a lighting scheme designed by ourselves - we can assist you with the sourcing and delivery of all the required items. Lights and other components can be packaged together, if required, for specific rooms and deliveries staggered in order to assist with the installation onsite.

Alternatively, if you haven't needed a lighting design but you have a specific type of light fitting your looking for or would like some advice on what type of light would be suitable for a particular location then we would be happy to help you.

If however you would like something completely unique, imaginative and individual to you, then we can oversee the design and manufacture of a completely bespoke luminaire. Event Lighting and Power

Using the extensive experience I have gained working in the entertainment industry, I can in addition to permanent lighting design, also offer lighting design for your temporary events and functions.

Whether it's for a main stage, product launch, exhibition, conference or a smaller production such as a wedding, garden party, community centre or school show, then I can help you. I will work closely with you to design a lighting scheme that creates an atmosphere and environment to impress. This is achieved by careful consideration of the particular requirements of each event. I can supply expert crew and technical support to ensure your production runs smoothly. No show is too big or too small; I can tailor my service to meet your needs. All of my projects receive the same level of service and design creativity no matter what the size or budget.

I can provide these services within permanent venues or your own site. As well as the design service, using my numerous contacts, I can source the lighting and power distribution required for the event. I have a wealth of experience working in environments ranging from airports, marinas and city centres to village halls and gardens.
